Everlyn Nicodemus @ Modern Gallery, Edinburgh

A retrospective exhibition of artworks by Everlyn Nicodemus.   It includes drawings, collages, paintings and textiles from the last 40 years of the artist’s life, as well as new works created especially for this show. This inspiring experience is made possible because Nicodemus won the prestigious Freelands Award in 2022.

She is an artist, writer and curator who believes that creativity can be a form of healing. Her joyful artworks are a powerful response to the global oppression of women, the profound impact of racism and her personal trauma and recovery. Nicodemus’ portrayal of the human body is bold and courageous, and her work asks us to explore and question our understanding of identity, belonging and faith.
