Photographer Aidan McNeill, artist and curator-led tour

14 October 2014 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join us for an exclusive private view, with both the artist and curator, of the extraordinary photographic work of Aidan McNeill.

Core Crop No.341, Giclee print, 89 cm x 89 cm
Core Crop No.341, Giclee print, 89 cm x 89 cm copyright Aidan McNeill

Each of her unique pieces are an inspired high definition digital restructuring of blooming roses. McNeill uses her post production wizardry to transform and enhance original photos of English Roses, inverting expected light and shadow and adding to each work a dramatic sculptural quality.  The work explores relationships between still life and landscape, the mechanical and the miraculous, transformation and abstraction of nature, colour and image.  McNeill was just awarded the 2014 Gold Prix de la Photographie in Paris.
Refreshments will be served.
This event is for Patrons and Friends only. Priority booking for Patrons until 1 October. There is no charge. RSVP to rsvp@UKFriendsofNMWA.org. Space is limited. Exact address will be provided to attendees.
With thanks to Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Gordon Campbell, and Payne Shurvell.
