Diane Simpson & Lesley Vance @ Herald St

Lesley Vance lives and works in Los Angeles. Working in both oil on linen and sometimes watercolour, she photographs compositions of natural forms that she creates in her studio, these become starting points for her paintings. The paint is worked into intimate, luminous shapes, wet-on-wet, often against darkened backgrounds. Her work is recognisable as the product of an intensified intuition of space and form. The Herald St show is comprised of a series of new oil on linen paintings.
