Description
Join us on our two-stop outing to Kensington. First, we will be going to The Mosaic Rooms to see Gut Feelings, a solo show by Iraqi-American artist Hayv Kahraman. Kahraman’s work is focused on the victimization of women, particularly in the context of the effects of war. In this new body of work, the artist delves into scientific research to situate the effects of trauma in the body and to investigate methodologies of physical healing and care. Kahraman’s work has been shown at The ICA, Boston, and the Rubell Museum, Miami, among many. Our tour will be led by Angelina Radakovic, curator at The Mosiac Rooms.
We will then walk to the Design Museum for a self-guided tour of Bethany Williams: Alternative Systems. The London-based designer is creating clothing that tackles environmental and social issues. Often working in collaboration with fabric designers, illustrators and re-cyclers (such as UK Book Publishing Industry Waste), her work is stocked internationally at high profile stores, including Galeries Lafayette, Biffi, and Selfridges.
Following the outing, we will finish the day with a self-treat lunch – a favourite opportunity to socialize.
Cost: Patrons – free; Friends – £15; Guests – £25
