It’s peak art season in London and the top shows are in town!
We’ve selected four stunning Mayfair exhibitions, with short gallerist talks at each.
From paintings to sculptures, these shows feature some of the best women artists working today, and those who paved the way for them.
A taste of what we’ll see…
We’ll see Rachel Howard’s “You Have a New Memory” (above), exploring and challenging the capacities of paint, here with textile. Alive with colour, her large-scale paintings present a veiled reminder of things past and are fascinating as they slowly reveal themselves.
We’ll also visit “Making It’ at Waddington Custot, surveying the practice of a generation of pioneering women sculptors who rose to prominence in Europe and the States during the 60 and 70s. Their handiwork has made a lasting impact on contemporary culture.
Also stopping at Pippi Houldsworth Gallery for Wangari Methenge and Tim Taylor for Annie Morris.
