A curated gallery hop of four galleries in Fitzrovia/Mayfair, with short gallerist talks at each one.

We’ll visit some of the best women artist exhibitions on now, including “The Gee’s Bend Quilts,” at Alison Jacques Gallery. The first solo exhibition in Europe devoted to three generations of women artists living in a remote black community in the Southern States and provides a survey of their quilts spanning nearly 100 years.

To read more about this fascinating show….

We’ll also visit the ultra-elegant ceramic sculptures of Kaori Tatebayeshi, modelled directly from flowers and plants, and “growing” up the walls at Tristan Hoare. Then on to Gagosian, for artist Rachel Whiteread’s haunting sculptural work inspired by her reading of John Steinbeck and experience of the Mojave Desert. We’ll finish up with a playful felt, yes felt! installation by artist Lucy Sparrow. Her painstakingly detailed creations will transform the Lyndsey Ingram Gallery into a Chemist, complete with Sparrow herself in lab coat ready to sign off on our “prescriptions.” Sure to chase away the lockdown blues once and for all!

Lunch to follow, at an outdoor restaurant if you can stay.

To comply with Covid guidelines, tour size will be limited, and galleries will only be open to our group. Please bring masks, hand sanitiser and practice social distancing.

SOLD OUT:  Join our waitlist by emailing your name, email and mobile to RSVP@UKFriendsofNMWA.org.  Cost: £30 (discounts: Friends £15; Patrons and one guest free).
